“A day of ancient biomolecules” at FORTH

The Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechonology, Foundation for Research and Foundation is pleased to announce the “Day of Ancient Biomolecules” on October 9, 2026. On this day the annual Kafatos lecture is hosted by IMBB, and it will be given by Nobel laureate Svante Pääbo, Nobel Laureate, renowned for his pioneering work on decoding Neanderthal DNA.

Accompanying the Kafatos Lecture, the International Symposium on Ancient Biomolecules will highlight recent advances in ancient DNA and protein research. The symposium is entitled “Unfolding our history through ancient biomolecules” and will feature four world-leading experts who will present overviews of their work.
